January 10, 2026 | 10:20AM | Jupiter Opposition

The first capture of 2026. I'm really enjoying the hobby more now that I don't try to get out every night and instead come out for special event like oppositions and such.

I'm looking forward to get back into some deep sky this year and more solar imaging.

Here is a cool shot of Jupiter in opposition with Callisto transiting its lower hemisphere. Seeing was really good lastnight but I had a hell of a time getting good focus. I am not sure if an auto focuser is more convenient than manually setting focus but it was sure nice to be adjusting focus from inside than standing out in the cold.
